Erik Kirsch began coaching at JSerra in 2015 as the Head Boys Soccer Coach. Coach Kirsch has been involved with the soccer community for many years, and aside from JSerra he is also the Men’s Assistant Soccer Coach at Concordia University Irvine. Additionally, he is the Director of the Pateadores Boy’s Older program for the South County chapter. Kirsch also served as the Boys U13-U18 Youth Academy Coach at West Coast Futbol Club from 2010 - 2020 and coached the Boys U16 and U18 Irvine Strikers Club Academy teams from 2008 to 2010. Kirsch holds a German "B" Coaching License . In 7 years, Erik has engineered the rapid ascent of a JSerra Boys Soccer program which has climbed to the pinnacle of Boys HS soccer , including a Trinity League Title 2020 and a CIF Finalist 2022.

 
From 1999-2001 he was the general manager and head coach of the Orange County Waves Professional Team, and in 1998 was an assistant coach with the Orange County Zodiac Professional Team. Kirsch was also the Director of the Mission Viejo Pateadores Soccer Club from 1997 to 2002.

Kirsch played collegiately at UC Irvine from 1987-1992, where he was team captain in 1991 and 1992, and named a Scholar-Athlete in 1990 and 1991. He earned his bachelor’s in Social Ecology in 1992. Kirsch went on to play professionally in Germany from 1993 to 1997.

Kirsch also leads the FC Peace-Rwanda soccer mission at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, CA. He and his wife Julie have been married 28 years, and she works at an Elementary School with special needs kids. They have two daughters, Daphne (22) and Kodie (17).
